Who we are
Rescout (rescout.fyi and app.rescout.fyi) helps you find Reddit posts where someone describes a problem your product solves, and message those people from your own Reddit account. It is run by Pawel Misiura. For anything in this policy, email [email protected].
Data the web app collects
- Account data. Your email address and login credentials, used to sign you in and to send you product email.
- Billing data. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. We store your subscription status, not your card details.
- Project settings. Your product description, subreddits, and keywords, used to find and qualify leads for you.
- Public Reddit content. Posts and comments that match your keywords, fetched from Reddit's public site and stored so we can show them to you as leads.
- Outreach data. The messages you queue, their delivery status, and replies you receive, so your dashboard can show what happened.
Data the Chrome extension handles
The Rescout browser extension delivers the messages you approved in the dashboard from your own signed-in Reddit session. It handles:
- Your Reddit chat session token. Read from reddit.com in your browser and stored only in your browser's local extension storage. It is used to send your messages to Reddit and is never sent to our servers.
- A Rescout pairing token. Stored in your browser and used to fetch your queued messages from your own Rescout account.
- Your Reddit username and account id. Sent to Rescout once so the dashboard knows which Reddit account is connected, and so we can refuse to send from the wrong account.
- Delivery status and replies. Whether each message you sent was delivered, and the text of replies to your outreach, synced to your dashboard so you can read and answer them.
The extension reads nothing else from reddit.com. It does not track your browsing, and it sends nothing you did not queue yourself.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- We do not use your data to train AI models.
- We do not collect data unrelated to the features described above.
Service providers
We use a small number of processors to run the service: a hosting provider for the app and database, Dodo Payments for billing, OpenAI to draft messages from your project description and each lead's post, and DataFast for anonymous website analytics. Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. Email [email protected] to delete your account and its data. Removing the extension deletes everything it stored in your browser.
Security
All traffic between your browser, the extension, and our servers uses HTTPS. Tokens are stored in extension storage that other websites and extensions cannot read, and pairing tokens are rotated every time you pair.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will note it here with a new date above.
